“Touchdown Jesus” statue burns after lightning struck in Ohio
Video News – A $250,000, 19 metre (62 feet) tall statue of Jesus Christ in the state of Ohio, United States turned into rubble after reportedly being struck by lightning.

The incident which was caught on amateur camera see’s a huge ball of fire in front of the non-denominational Solid Rock Church.
According to eyewitnesses, the statue was struck by lightning at around 11:15pm on Monday and started to burn.
The statue later fell to the ground with only sections of the face of the statue visible.
Only the frame remains of the wooded, fiberglass and polystyrene statue built in 2004 and named “King of Kings” which is of the upper body of Jesus Christ, opening his arms while looking toward the sky.
Firefighters who put the fire out reported no injuries but a nearby amphitheatre was slightly damaged.
Comments about the statue burning was made on Twitter and Facebook where a group commemorating the statue was put up within hours.
One Internet user even wrote “People build a statue of God, and God destroyes that statue, clearly someone is doing something wrong.”
Another user also wrote, “If it was destroyed then it will be re-built, it is as simple as that.”

it only shows that Christians are stupid.Jesus is just a prophet and he was not killed but God raised him up.God is the greatest.
“Touchdown Jesus”? Blasphemous.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. The Lord of Hosts, The Lord Strong and Mighty was not pleased.
The one great god is telling us something.

I grew up 20 minutes away from that thing. It always terrified me when I go close to it, kinda glad to see it go. Not in an anti-religion way, but in an anti-things-that-creep-me-out way.
This is sign that god dosen’t like artificial love of man.Instead of $250,000 spent on the statue would be given to some famlies that would make a living and there wouldn`t it be a good deed done by the people who built this statue,and also would recieve blessings from heaven.

That was probably an awesome sight to see. I think the people at the church would do better not to rebuild this statue of Jesus. I don’t think their Lord was too happy about it in the first place!
People say that jesus is son of god and thus god and the reason being the miracle of the birth of jesus without a father throuh HAZRAT MARRIUM(MARRY) but they forget that PROPHET ADAM (peace be upon him) was born without a father and also without a mother and every one says that Prophet ADAM is SLAVE of GOD so why this attribute of PROPHET JESUS ……
WHAT happens is that people het carried away in love….. otherwise why wood they start worshippping stones and fire and puppets/idols….

remember BEFORE GOD On the day of judgement every one who will enter HELL will confess that yes we were at fault and plz send us agian so that we can do good deeeds…but it would be too late …

This was just God telling the world that he doesn’t care for tacky displays of Jesus. Maybe we can all take this as a hint to keep our religious beliefs to ourselves.
