Israeli Forces Raid Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital: Medical Staff and Patients Detained
Israeli soldiers raided Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, detaining medical staff and male patients. Health officials warned of critical shortages of fuel and medical supplies at the facility.
Israeli forces conducted a raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, detaining male medical staff and several patients. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, male staff members and patients over the age of 15 were gathered in the hospital courtyard and taken to an undisclosed location by security forces. The hospital administration noted that ongoing clashes have made it challenging to evacuate the patients.
The United Nations (UN) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have declared the situation a “humanitarian crisis” and called for urgent humanitarian aid. WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized the need to protect healthcare facilities and confirmed that Kamal Adwan Hospital is operating with limited fuel and medical supplies. Additionally, it was reported that newborns in the hospital’s intensive care unit are at severe risk due to the lack of essential resources.
