At the request of Afghanistan government and United Nations, India will train Afghanistan’s Civil Aviation personnel.
New Delhi, July 17/Nationalturk – To strengthen relations between the two neighbouring countries, India will train Afghanistan’s Civil Aviation personnel.
“Indian Aviation Academy (IAA), a wing of Airports Authority of India (AAI), has been engaged by Afghanistan government and United Nations office of Projects Services (UNOPS) to train the civil aviation personnel of Afghanistan,” an Indian official spokesman said.
The UN forces are in the process of handing over the airports to the Afghanistan Government.
He said UNOPS and Afghanistan government officials met AAI chairman Alok Sinha to work out details of training to civil aviation personnel in Afghanistan.
Indian firms, engineers and skilled labourers are engaged in developmental works in Afghanistan.
India keenly watching developments in Afghanistan
Indian junior minister of Foreign Affairs, Gen (Retd) V K Singh informed lawmakers in Lok Sabha, lower house of Indian parliament that Indian government is closely monitors all important developments in Afghanistan involving the presence of international security forces in that country.
“Government will continue to take all necessary steps to safeguard India’s security and territorial integrity,” he said.
The Taliban militants in Afghanistan attacked Kabul airport on Thursday.
