A recent poll has suggested the Angela Merkel has dramatically dropped out of favour from the German voters. The majority of Germans see Chancellor Angela Merkel as a weak leader
More then half of the voters on the poll approximately 52% said that Merkel “was doing doing little to set the course for the government”. Only 37% of the voters approved of Merkel a very high drop compared to when she was voted into to office.
Meanwhile a strong majority, 61% said the government, Merkel’s hand-picked alliance of her conservative bloc with the pro-business Free Democrats, had had a “bad start” since their term began in late October.
And only about one in three 32% said they thought Merkel’s Christian Democratic party fully backed her, down from 49 per cent in October.
Merkel was widely known in Turkey for her remarks when she was first voted in to office which also put tensions high in the Germany Turkey relations. Her strict stance on trying to get in the way of Turkey from getting into the European Union was very well known.
