Call of Duty cheaters will no longer see or hear opponents

Ricochet has come up with another method against cheaters. Your targets become invisible. At the same time, the cheat used is analyzed.

The Ricochet development team, which creates the anti-cheat software of the same name for Call of Duty games, is known for its unusual means against cheaters. With Damage Shield, gamers who have been caught cheating can no longer inflict fatal damage on other players. Another method is now new: cloaking.

Cheating players in multiplayer matches can no longer see other characters. In addition, shots and noises are hidden for them. They can’t do any damage as effectively and ruin the gaming experience for everyone else through methods like aim bots, automatic aim assists or wallhacks that make characters visible through walls and objects.

This approach differs from the approach taken by other manufacturers. Normally, accounts caught cheating are unsolicited banned and locked from the game. This is the final result in Call of Duty, after all, according to the manufacturer, more than 140,000 accounts have already been deactivated for cheating.

Analyze cheat to improve anti-cheat

However, these are analyzed beforehand and the anti-cheat software collects analysis data on the behavior of the cheat program used in each case. In this way, the anti-cheat system can be better adapted to other cheats in the future and work more precisely. This is also important as Ricochet can already be detected and bypassed by some cheats. Described methods are used for observations in order to keep cheaters online as long as possible – without spoiling the fun for other players.

The new version of the anti-cheat firmware, which is supposed to work at kernel level, is now also being installed for Call of Duty Vanguard (test). The two parallel titles Vanguard and Warzone should be on par when it comes to anti-cheat protection.
