Young Korean star makes debut as Ajax frash Roda JC 4-0.
The 18 year old Hyun Jun Suk who has been in the press lately due to his talent has finally played in his first professional match for Ajax by replacing Serbian striker Marco Pantelic in the 80th minute against Roda JC.
Ajax are now on 46 points behind PSV Eindhoven and FC Twente, both with 55 points in the Dutch league.
“I was very nervous because it was my career-first match, so I could not play up to what I planned,” said Hyun Jun Suk.
“It felt good to hear fans chant my name.”
The appearance of Suk came as a surprise as Martin Jol the Ajax manager had said in a press conference in the past week “Hyun Jun Suk is only 18 years old and offered his services to Ajax by himself. We didn’t scout him or anything. Therefore, I’m not sure whether he’s ready to make his debut yet,”
“It would be rather strang for Suk to make his debut this weekend, but it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done something like that. Suk is a good player and he always does his utmost. He has impressed at Ajax.”
