World Cup 2010 South Africa group stage match – Japan Vs Cameroon preview
Cameroon are looking as the favorite for the Group E clash with Japan on Monday. Japan have received much criticism after losing all their warm up games and only managing a draw against Zimbabwe.
Japan have also looked very poor upfront, managing to score only one goal in all their warm up games.
Cameroon have also received stick recently with poor performances in the African Nations Cup. Eto’o even threatened to quit after receiving criticism from Roger Milla, arguably Cameroons greatest forward.
With both teams defense being poor, one would expect a game with many goals but Cameroon with the electric speed of Eto’o can easily cause problems for the Asian side who has performed very badly in their warm-up games.
Prediction
Cameroon has a full squad and no injury worries other than Arsenal midfielder Alexandre Song be a doubt. Japan also has a fit squad after midfielder Makoto Hasebe returned to the team after an injury.
When evaluating both teams, Cameroon looks the stronger side especially with the likes of Eto’O when fit can cause devastating problems to the defense.
Japan with their poor defense conceding nine goals and only managing to score a single goal during the warm-ups puts great doubt on the Japanese side.
