Dutch international Wesley Senijder are unhappy with Turkish giants Galatasaray, Van Persie’s best mate Dutchman ready to transfer of Manchester United in January window.
Manchester United may launch a £12million January bid for Holland star Wesley Sneijder, writes the Sunday People.
The Premier League champs apparently failed with a £6m approach for the Galatasaray playmaker during the summer.
The Turkish club’s sporting director Bulent Tulun said: “Wesley Sneijder received an indirect offer from Manchester United, but it was not accepted.”
Old Trafford boss David Moyes could now double his offer.
You might have thought David Moyes learned his lesson in the summer, when he tried to lure an unwilling Cesc Fabregas away from Barcelona. But it seems that the Man United manager is going to repeat the trick with Wesley Sneijder in January.
The Dutch midfielder is currently plying his trade with Galatasaray in Turkey and has declared himself very happy there. However, the British newspapers says that Turkey is buzzing with reports that United are about to make a move.
But reports in Turkey suggest that United are set to test Galatasaray’s resolve with a £12m offer.
The Turkish language version of Eurosport report that United are ready to double the bid they made for Sneijder during the most recent transfer window.
It is thought that Sneijder has a £13m release clause in his contract, but United hope to lure the 29-year-old to Old Trafford without paying that figure.
Even more bizarre is the claim that, although Wesley Sneijder has a release clause of £13m in his contract, Manchester United are reportedly only prepared to pay £12m for the player.
The 29-year-old has also been linked with a switch to Chelsea, where he would be reunited with Jose Mourinho, who was his manager at Inter Milan. But Wesley Sneijder is having none of it. Earlier this week he told Lig TV: “I love this club and I am not even thinking about leaving… It’s just rumours and you will see come January I will be linked with Chelsea again but I am staying here.”
Sneijder currently earns £50,000-a-week in Istanbul but United may well be willing to match that figure to bring the Dutch international to England.
