Wayne Rooney banned by Uefa for kicking a player in England’s final qualifier. Wayne Rooney will miss the 3 group stage matches of the 2012 European Championship.

UEFA’s disciplinary panel announced the verdict after examining the England striker Wayne Rooney’s kick at Montenegro defender Miodrag Dzudovic in a qualifying game last Friday.Ban will rule the striker, who wreak his anger on another player, out of group games. Fabio Capello has to make big decision over Wayne Rooney for Euro 2012. The Italian manager and British Football Association will decide whether to appeal or leave the case as it is.

Is English football’s latest curse to possess a super talents who are part match-winner, part liability ?

UEFA’s rule book calls for three-game bans in cases judged to be assault, rather than the mandatory one-match ban for receiving a red card. Uefa appears to have deemed the right-footed swipe at Dzudovic as an assault, allowing the disciplinary committee to increase the suspension upon viewing video evidence, and has clearly taken into account the one-game ban served by Rooney in the qualifying group for yellow cards. The British Football Association was shocked by the severity of the banning decision, having hoped Wayne Rooney might escape with the automatic one-match ban for his frustration-fuelled kick at the Montenegro defender Miodrag Dzudovic 17 minutes from the end of last Friday’s 2-2 draw in Podgorica. That show of petulance will cost the 25-year-old any involvement in the group section and Fabio Capello now faces a considerable dilemma over whether to omit his allegedly best player from his 23-man squad and instead include someone who could help England through a potentially awkward first phase  in the Eurochampionship 2012 in Poland/Ukraine.

The FA has yet to determine whether it will appeal against the sanction. The FA’s legal teams are to scrutinise the written explanation, due to be faxed overnight, before considering their next move. They have 72 hours from the dispatch of the reasoning to submit an appeal. Wayne Rooney’s kick was a reaction of pure frustration on his fathers imprisonment just a few days prior to the game. Father jailed, son banned, way to go Rooney family.
