Victoria Beckham has eaten the same thing every day for 25 years

During an appearance on the River Cafe’s Table 4 podcast, David Beckham revealed that Victoria Beckham has been eating a certain meal on repeat since her Spice Girls days.

But what is Victoria Beckham’s favorite dish? David reveals everything to us…

Impossible not to succumb to the charm of The River Cafe Table 4, the podcast hosted by Ruth Rogers, chef of the famous restaurant in the Hammersmith district of London, in which she talks with some of her famous regulars about the evolution of their relationship to food over the years. Who are the celebrities who have already come to chat with the thinking head of the London institution? We can cite Tracey Emin, Pete Davidson, Nigella Lawson or Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of British Vogue.

“She only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables” – David Beckham

But it’s Ruth Rogers’ latest guest who’s got the press buzzing with her foodie revelations. In the episode of Table 4 posted online on February 1, David Beckham told us all about the dinners at the Beckhams: in particular the fact that Victoria has eaten the same meal every day since he met her more than 25 years. “She only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables; she very rarely deviates from it,” he explains with a laugh. “The only time she tasted something that was on my plate was when she was pregnant with Harper, and I was hallucinating… It’s one of my favorite nights. I don’t remember what it was, but I know she hasn’t eaten it since!

If you think he’s adding to it, know that Victoria Beckham had revealed during her own appearance at Table 4 that she was extremely picky about what she ingested, neither oil, nor butter, nor even any sauce finds favor. in her eyes (hopefully she’s no exception when she dines at the River Cafe: their slow-cooked sweet Florence fennel wild sea bass is fabulous). So what does the ex-Spice Girl eat when she needs a little comfort? A slice of toasted wholemeal bread, brightened with a little salt.

David Beckham, for his part, seems rather gourmet and gifted in the kitchen: proof of this is the plate of tagliatelle with chanterelles, butter and parmesan cheese that he prepared for Ruth Rogers before the recording of the podcast. Another interesting point of their discussion: the footballer’s all-consuming passion for Jewish cuisine, which he used to taste regularly as a child. “Every Saturday, we ate at my grandmother’s house who made absolutely crazy chicken noodle soup, with matzah flour dumplings… I grew up with it. And of course the eel jelly. When you’re from the East End of London, you’re bound to like pie and mash, eel jelly, and jus.” Wondering which table the Beckhams sit at when they dine at the River Cafe? Number one, of course.
