Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez arrived in Cuba for a radiotherapy treatment.
According to Juventud Rebelde daily, Hugo Chavez, who looked in good spirit upon arrival, was welcomed by his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro.
Before leaving Simon Bolivar de Maiquetía airport in Caracas, Chavez said that he was travelling to Havana to continue working and chiefly for his recovery because he is willing to live.
The head of State said that his body is healthy and that thanks to God all his vital organs have reacted well for continuing fighting for his life.
Chavez announced his trip to Cuba Saturday afternoon during a meeting with vice presidents of the Government at Miraflores Palace, in which he explained that the treatment will complement the surgery carried out on February 27 in the Cuban capital.
Meanwhile, residents in the Venezuelan state of Tachira, along with Government members, started a mass walking in support to the trip of President Chavez to Cuba to complete his radiotherapy treatment.
