US President Obama to visit Latin America

US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama will make their first foreign trip of the year when they travel to Latin America March 19-23.

The Obamas will visit Brazil, Chile and El Salvador, where the president will meet with leaders and speak to the public about a wide range of issues, including economic prosperity and job creation through increased trade and partnerships.

The White House says the trip will provide an opportunity to engage key bilateral partners and advance the president’s efforts to work as equal partners to address the basic challenges facing the people of the Americas.

Obama will hold events in several cities, including Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago and San Salvador.
