Uruguay and Atletico Madrid Forward Diego Forlan has reportedly rejected a deal to sign with Rubin Kazan after the Russian champions tried to lure in the 2010 World Cup’s flash player.
According to rumors, the Russian club who competes in the Champions League and has given hard times to super clubs in the competition such as Barcelona, sent a transfer request last week to try and lure the Urguay forward last week.
The 31-year-old who was chosen man of the tournament at the 2010 World Cup this summer rejected moves to several clubs in the summer transfer window including Tottenham, Wolfsburg, Fenerbahce and Rubin Kazan.
However, there are insiders at the Spanish club who won the Europa League Last season that believe Forlan is no longer his old self and would leave the club soon.
The Uruguayan striker who played for Manchester United was reported to have been interested in a move back to the Premiership but this has not yet been confirmed.
