Turkish football clubs Fenerbahçe and Eskişehirspor withheld from receiving prize money they are owed for entering 2012/13 UEFA club competitions by a recent UEFA decision.

Istanbul / NationalTurk – After European football’s governing body declared today that it was withholding the funds for 23 clubs pending further investigation, Turkish football clubs Fenerbahce and Eskişehirspor are in utter shock.

A statement published on UEFA’s official website states the interlocutory injunction action was taken as part of “UEFA financial fair play requirements.”

“Following its last meeting in August 2012, the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) investigatory chamber has identified that important overdue payables towards other clubs, and/or towards employees or social/tax authorities existed in 23 cases,” the statement read.

“Consequently, the CFCB investigatory chamber will continue their investigations and request these clubs to provide an updated situation as of 30 September 2012 with regards to overdue payables towards other clubs, employees and social/tax authorities,” UEFA said.

The list of clubs who had their prize payments withheld as interlocutory injunction by Uefa  were as follows:
