Besiktas JK Istanbul is banned from all European Competitions for 1 year by UEFA. The ban decision has been given after UEFA investigators had filed an appeal after UEFA’s initial decision on Besiktas status 3 weeks ago.

Istanbul / NationalTurk –  As Beşiktaş Chairman Fikret Orman and club’s lawyer Emin Özkurt returned to Turkey happily after defending their club in an UEFA meeting in Nyon, Switzerland after Besiktas was not banned from European competitions for misleading the UEFA,  NationalTurk has reported that this was hardly a victory for the newly elected Besiktas president.

UEFA’s decision was a suspended sentence for Besiktas and today after UEFA investigators appealed the suspended decision to a higher committee Uefa axed Besiktas with a 1 year penalty from all European Competitions.

Beşiktaş Istanbul, one of Turkey’s top three football clubs, was given a 500.000 Euro fine a suspended sentence by the Disciplinary Committee of the UEFA on Tuesday and the Turkish club was given a warning that it would be banned from all UEFA contests for two years if it violates any of the UEFA’s financial regulations in the next five years. This is not a warning this is a penalty to be given in the near future many claim.

Uefa bans Besiktas Istanbul from participation to all competitions !!!

Today’s ban decision is surely a blow for Besiktas JK, but it is a shame for Besiktas’s new board under chairman Fikret Orman. Besiktas chairman Orman and his board has failed to protect Besiktas’ rights. The former Besiktas chairman caused a collapse at Besiktas financial status, but the new one failed at defending the 110 year-old club from Istanbul miserably.

NationalTurk Sports service contacted UEFA media centre immidiately after the ban decision has been received,  the UEFA officer on the phone stated that a statement was yet to be released. We are not sure what to think of Uefa, the governing body of European football, which lets the news to be leaked and has not released an official statement on a matter of such importance. Uefa officer told NT that they have not faxed the decision to the club itself and a statement would be released following the fax.
