Turkish PM blasts Galatasaray fans who booed him

Turkey’s prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan slams who booed him during the Turk Telekom Stadium opening ceromony. Erdoğan  who walked out of the opening of Galatasaray’s government-built giant stadium after booing by some fans, says it was an orchestrated protest.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Monday that he was saddened by the protest at the opening of the stadium on Saturday.

Erdogan has said the Istanbul-based football club did not spent a cent in the construction of the 52,000-seat Turk Telekom Arena and his government did not deserve such an attitude. Taraf newspaper said the protest was sparked after some officials criticized Galatasaray for not properly paying the rent for its old stadium, Ali Sami Yen.

Galatasararay says it is examining security camera footage to bar the protesters from entering the new stadium.
