Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers want to transfer Turkish international Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool FC face competition from Manchester City in their pursuit of winger and midfielder Arda Turan.
The Turkish international had a £20 million release clause before negotiating a new contract with Atletico Madrid earlier this season which saw that figure rise to around £33 million.
The 26-year-old Turkish has emerged as a star man for Diego Simeone in the Spanish capital and was rewarded earlier this season with a new contract.
And following the collapse of Salah’s move, the Reds could look to step in for Turan in the coming days, while City are prepared to wait until the summer.
Reds have been linked with Turan for a while but with reports that Man City are happy to meet the new release clause in the summer, they are looking to act now and beat the Manchester club to his signature.
Whether or not Atletico Madrid would allow Turan to go as they fight strongly on all three fronts remains to be seen though.
