A total of 20 custom officials, kidnapped by PKK terrorists at the end of August in the eastern Van and southeastern Hakkari provinces, have been released, a human rights activist said Tuesday.
“Twenty custom officials were released near the northern Iraqi city of Dohuk,” head of Turkish Human Rights Association Ozturk Turkdogan told Anadolu Agency.
Turkdogan added they had departed from Dohuk to Turkey.
Customs and Trade Minister Cenap Asci also announced Tuesday that the customs officials were expected to arrive at the Habur Border Gate between Iraq and Turkey.
