Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry revokes license of Turkish abortion tour company, which organizes abortion tours for Turkish women.
Ankara / NationalTurk – Turkey is at present a popular abortion destination for Middle Eastern and Arab tourists.
Baracuda Tur, the Turkish travel agency, which organizes abortion tours, charges 299 Euros for an abortion tour to Crimea, $600 for one to Bosnia and 1,200 Pounds for the same abortion tour to England for women.
Baracuda Tur started providing abortion tours to Crimea, Bosnia, Turkish Cyprus and England nearly 20 days ago and has stated that 16 customers have already signed up.
Turkey Abortion Ban : Tourism License for abortion tours cancelled
Turkey’s Baracuda Tur has launched international ‘abortion tours’ for women looking to combine sight-seeing and medical procedures with the procedure of abortion, in an attempt to capitalize on the recent controversy in Turkey surrounding possible new abortion regulations.
‘ Whenever anything is made illegal or difficult to acquire in the country, people will always find a way to get it. We tourism firms benefit from these regulations,’ stated Cem Polatoğlu, Baracuda’s general manager.
If abortion is banned in Turkey, the so-called abortion tours and these kind of medical tourism would come to an end. Health sector experts suggest that many Turkish citizens have already started traveling to Turkish Cyprus for abortions.
Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry ‘s decision of decertification for tourism license of Turkish abortion tour company stirred the abortion polemics anew.
