A military incursion by Turkey into northern Iraq territory to wipe out terrorists of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK terrorist organization, “could be conducted at any moment,” stated Turkish Interior Minister İdris Şahin.

“Turkish government and army is evaluating a possible cross-border incursionis. Meanwhile our operations continue to battle crime and criminals on land, as well as maintaining control. A cross-border operetion may be launched depending on talks with the neighboring Iran, Iraq and Syria” Iterior Şahin told reporters.

Minister Şahin added that Turkey has launched military incursions to Northern Iraq numerous times in the past.

The Turkish army forces and started bombarding PKK camps in Kandil Mountains in Northern Iraq after vermin militants from the terrorist group stepped up attacks in Southeast Anatolia last month. The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States of America and the European Union.

Deputy Prime Minister and government’s press secretary Bülent Arınç stated that these [military issues] are matters not to be discussed but to be done,”  following a recent meeting with the Cabinet. “It will happen when the time comes, and the prime minister, who is currenty visiting Arab counytrie to be their emotional leader and the Turkish government will decide and instruct the relevant authorities to act. It is not an issue at the present moment. But when it is an issue, meeting upon meeting to announce it is unnecessary. The authority that Turkish Parliament [gave for an operation] is valid until Oct. 17. Within or outside of this authority, Turkey is capable of making any decision on incursions and operations regarding nation’s security issues. This is beyond a question to be asked daily, it will only be announced when the government takes on the authority to do it. There is no need for any other meeting.” the deputy PM expressed, as turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is abroad and visiting countries of Arab Spring, to enhance Turkey’s stature and power on them.
