Turkish Airlines Launches A New Route To Phuket
Turkish Airlines will offer 4 flights a week from Istanbul to Phuket starting July 17
Turkish Airlines will offer flights to world famous touristic spot, the Thai island of Phuket, in the summer, said the company’s manager in Thailand on Tuesday.
Turkish Airlines executive in Thailand, Abdullah Ahmet Tugcu told journalists that the first flight to Phuket from Istanbul will be on July 17.
“We will open Phuket line this year. Our first expedition from Istanbul to Phuket will be on July 17,” Tugcu said, adding that there would be four flights a week.
In addition, Tugcu said that Turkish Airlines offered 14 flights a week to the capital of Thailand, Bangkok, and two flights a day.
Turkish Airlines manager in Thailand said passengers could also fly the Bangkok-Saigon line via Turkish Airlines.
He said the abolishment of tourist visas between Turkey and Thailand in 2012 had considerably boosted passenger traffic.
“As of November, we scheduled two flights in a day in the winter season for the first time,” Tugcu added.
Turkish Airlines flies to 116 countries, more than any other airline.
Turkey’s flag carrier currently has 337 aircraft and flies to 298 destinations — 249 international and 49 domestic.
Turkish Airlines was chosen as Europe’s Best Airline for the sixth time and the Best Airline in Southern Europe for the eighth consecutive time in a 2016 Skytrax survey.
