Turkey side Haliç University win European Universities Football Championship (EUSA)
Turkish champions Haliç University have won the 8th European Universities Football Championship (EUSA), held in Poland after beating the hosts 3-1.
Haliç University which represented Turkey in the competition, beat their first game against German representatives Wurzburg University 1-0 and drew against Ukrainian representatives Kiev University.
The Turkish champions then faced French representatives Montpellier University in the semifinals which Haliç won with a 5-0 score line.
Haliç University then went on to beat Poland 3-1 in the finals and completed the competition without being beaten.
Haliç University had also won the last Turkish European Universities Football Championship without a loss and have so far won three Istanbul championships and two Turkey championships. Haliç have also won a European Championship and in 2006 won the World championship amongst universities.
