Turkey Continues to Evacuate Citizens from Libya

TCG Orucreis frigate has arrived from Benghazi Port to Turkey’s Marmaris Port after a 30-hour-long trip on Sunday.

TCG Orucreis brought 212 passengers, 90 of whom were foreigners, to Marmaris.

The group of foreigners brought by TCG Orucreis included 66 Bosnians, 6 Serbs, 11 Poles, 2 Americans, 1 German and 4 Macedonians.

Another Turkish frigate, TCG Iskenderun, arrived Monday at the Marmaris Port from Benghazi Port with 1,526 passengers on board out of whom 427 were foreigners.

The group of foreigners brought by TCG Iskenderun included 208 Vietnamese, 39 Bosnians, 30 Macedonians, 31 South Koreans, 18 Serbs, 22 Bulgarians, 17 Ukrainians, 10 Syrians, 10 Tunisians, 9 Jordanians, 7 Moroccans, 5 Thai nationals, 3 Americans, 4 Filipinos, 5 Iraqis, 2 Pakistanis, 1 Indian, 1 Italian, 1 Canadian, 1 Libyan, 1 Lebanese, 1 British, 1 Romanian and 1 Algerian.

Moreover, two Turkish military airplanes brought 205 people from Tripoli to the Dalaman Airport in western province of Mugla on Monday. Out of the 205 people, 20 were foreign nationals.

Meanwhile, the bodies of two Turks who died in Libya were brought to Istanbul at 18.45 hours on Sunday in a Turkish Airlines (THY) passenger jet.

On the other hand, a Korean military officer thanked to Turkey for such planny organization. He also conveyed his respects to Turkish nation and its government to bring 31 Korean citizens to Turkey from Libya.
