Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Tuesday denied involvement in twin blasts in Boston, United States that killed three people and left over 100 injured.

Islamabad, April 16/Nationalturk-  Pakistan’s dreaded militant outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Tuesday denied involvement in twin blasts in Boston, United States that killed three people and left over 100 injured.

“We are not involved in the bomb blasts at the Boston Marathon,” Pakistan newspaper Dawn quoted TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan as telling a wire news agency.

He said the militant group has no connection to the bombing that took place on Monday afternoon at Boston Marathon, one of America’s top sporting events.

The TTP is based in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal belt on the Afghan border and has been blamed for some of the deadliest suicide attacks in Pakistan. The militant group has carried out scores of suicide bombings targeting Shia Muslims in Pakistan.

‘Group not behind twin blasts’

The TTP spokesman said the group believed in attacking US and its allies but was not behind the twin blasts in Boston. “We will continue to target them wherever possible,” he added.

Earlier on May 1, 2010, TTP had claimed responsibility for a car bomb attempt in New York’s Times Square for which Pakistani-American Faisal Shahzad was jailed for life.

He was shown in a video embracing TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud.

The TTP has also claimed responsibility for December 2009 suicide attack on CIA facilities in Camp Chapman in Afghanistan.  Seven CIA officers and contractors were killed and six more wounded in the suicide bomb, the second-largest single-day loss for the spy agency in its history.

Among the dead was agency’s base chief.
