Donald Trump actually wanted to fly to his luxury property in Florida. But nothing came of it at first – his private jet had to make an emergency landing in the southern state of Louisiana.
A private plane carrying former US President Donald Trump has had to make an emergency landing due to engine failure. The machine returned to the city’s airport in southern Louisiana on Saturday evening after taking off from New Orleans because of an engine failure, as Trump’s environment confirmed on Wednesday.
According to the online magazine “Politico”, which was the first to report on the incident, the plane had to turn back after around 20 to 30 minutes. According to this, the machine should take Trump to his luxury estate Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, after an appearance in front of Republican Party donors.
According to the Washington Post, Trump was on board the Dassault Falcon 900 aircraft, as well as advisors and employees of the former president and bodyguards from the Secret Service. After the emergency landing at a donor, the party leadership organized another machine for the 75-year-old’s return flight.
Trump’s comments about Russia cause trouble
Even after losing to Democrat Joe Biden in the November 2020 presidential election, Trump is still the strongman among the Republicans. The right-wing populist is still very popular with the conservative base. He has repeatedly brought up a new presidential candidacy in 2024.
In recent weeks, Trump has made headlines primarily for praising Russian President Vladimir Putin amid the Ukraine crisis. He described Putin as “brilliant” and “smart” before the start of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. After the Russian invasion of the neighboring country, Trump described the war as a “terrible catastrophe”, but again called the Russian president “clever”.
According to the Washington Post, Trump suggested during a speech in a luxury hotel in New Orleans last Saturday that the United States should mark US fighter jets with Chinese flags and then bomb Russia. “And then we say, ‘China did it, we didn’t do it, China did it’. And then they fight each other and we sit back and watch.”
