Video News – A $250,000, 19 metre (62 feet) tall statue of Jesus Christ in the state of Ohio, United States turned into rubble after reportedly being struck by lightning.

The incident which was caught on amateur camera see’s a huge ball of fire in front of the non-denominational Solid Rock Church.
According to eyewitnesses, the statue was struck by lightning at around 11:15pm on Monday and started to burn.
The statue later fell to the ground with only sections of the face of the statue visible.
Only the frame remains of the wooded, fiberglass and polystyrene statue built in 2004 and named “King of Kings” which is of the upper body of Jesus Christ, opening his arms while looking toward the sky.
Firefighters who put the fire out reported no injuries but a nearby amphitheatre was slightly damaged.
Comments about the statue burning was made on Twitter and Facebook where a group commemorating the statue was put up within hours.
One Internet user even wrote “People build a statue of God, and God destroyes that statue, clearly someone is doing something wrong.”
Another user also wrote, “If it was destroyed then it will be re-built, it is as simple as that.”
