One farm house was filmed on amateur camera when it was completely destroyed by the twisters, but so far no fatalities or injuries have been reported.

While families went into underground bunkers or evacuated the area, some storm chasers filmed the devastating natural wonders in action while debris were sent hurling into the air.

Large tree branches, roofs, large sections of houses and cars were seen being flung into the air like toys while electricity was lost in large parts of the region.

Weather experts indicated that the tornados which started to appear in North Dakota moved towards Minnesota in the early evening hours of the day.

Tom Grafenauer, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks said “Most of this action was in Minnesota with one tornado appearing on the ground for almost 30 minutes.”

The damage is expected to be in the millions of dollars mark.
