High-ranking visitor from France: President Emmanuel, 46, and wife Brigitte Macron, 70, are completing their state visit to Stockholm and are welcomed by the Swedish royal family with an elegant state banquet. It’s not just the “Première Dame” from France that impresses with her look.
The Swedish royals also shine in their outfits and cause one or two surprises.
Princess Sofia tricks as much as she can
At first glance, Princess Sofia’s, 39, look may seem simple, but upon closer inspection it holds a few surprises. The Swedish princess does a lot of tricks with her outfit. She chooses a cream-colored gown by designer Lars Wallin, which impresses with flowing fabrics and an elegant knot detail at the hips. To ensure that the supposedly off-the-shoulder dress is not too revealing, the designer lengthens the dress with transparent tulle fabric around the arms and shoulders.
But Sofia doesn’t just create a small optical illusion with this detail. Sofia also helped with her shoes. Her simple, cream-colored Olympia pumps impress with a subtly recessed platform heel that is not visible at first glance and still makes the princess look a few centimeters taller.
A glittering silver clutch from Christian Louboutin and the palmette studded with pearls. Tiara, which Sofia wore for her wedding to Prince Carl Philip, 44, rounds off the look and provides glamorous details in the reduced appearance.
Crown Princess Victoria relies on stylish sustainability
It’s no secret that Crown Princess Victoria, 46, is a fan of Swedish fashion giant H&M. She always chooses designs from different collections. She is particularly impressed by the designs of the sustainable “Conscious” collection. She also impressed at the state banquet for Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron in Stockholm in a dress from H&M designed especially for her. However, the dress is not a new addition to Victoria’s wardrobe. She already wore the gray-silver dress with an extravagant one-shoulder detail at the Nobel Peace Prize in Stockholm in 2016. As she did eight years ago, Victoria wears her hair in a low bun at the state banquet, which perfectly highlights the magnificent “steel tiara”.
Queen Silvia’s look makes you smile
But it’s not just the Swedish princesses who provide exciting eye-catching moments. Queen Silvia of Sweden, 80, also surprises with thoughtful details in her look.
She welcomes Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron in radiant purple. For the festive occasion, the choice fell on a floor-length gown made of lined lace from Georg et Arend. This isn’t the first time she’s wearing her dress either.
But it’s not the dress that could make royal fans smile, but rather her handbag. Silvia chooses a Judith Leiber box clutch that resembles a playing card. The name of the clutch: “Queen of Hearts” clutch, in German “Queen of Hearts”. Maybe this means a little homage to yourself?
Swedish king receives French president on state visit
The meeting will, among other things, discuss the war in Ukraine and Sweden’s application to join NATO.
The Swedish King Carl XVI. Gustaf welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron for a two-day state visit. The king received Macron and his wife Brigitte in the courtyard of Stockholm Palace on Tuesday.
Both then inspected a division of grenadiers. Macron was due to speak with the king and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson during the visit.
Macron said it had been far too long since the last visit of a French president to Sweden. His predecessor Jacques Chirac last visited the Scandinavian country in 2000. Macron’s state visit was originally planned for October, but was postponed due to the Gaza war.
Hungary’s ratification is still missing before Sweden can join NATO. All other NATO countries have already agreed.
