His ex-adviser explains why he wants to go to Spain of all places.
Allegedly, Bayern’s top star Robert Lewandowski, who is willing to change, has been wanting to move to Spain for a long time. At least that’s what his ex-adviser Cezary Kucharski says about the Spanish sports radio station “Cadena SER”. Accordingly, it had always been Lewandowski’s career plan to move to Spain sooner or later.
“His plan was Germany, then Spain and then the United States at the end of his career,” said Kucharski. The former advisor also gives the reason why the 33-year-old would like to move to Barcelona of all places. “Lewandowski wants to show that he is better than Benzema.” Karim Benzema is under contract with Barcelona’s arch-rivals Real Madrid. Benzema won the Champions League with the Madrilenians that year.
The transfer of the Polish national striker has been dragging on for several weeks. Barcelona have upped their offer to €35m but Bayern don’t want to let their goal-getter go. “He has to put pressure on Bayern so that they release him from the contract,” advises ex-adviser Kucharski, who was banned from contact with Poland in 2020 because of possible blackmail. “Lewy” is now represented by Pini Zahavi.
