TFF and UEFA Presidents meet at UEFA HQ in Zurich
Turkish Football Federation ( TFF ) President Yıldırım Demiroren met FIFA President Sepp Blatter for a courtesy visit at FIFA HQ in Zurich, Switzerland.
Istanbul / NationalTurk – TFF President Demiroren met with FIFA President Sepp Blatter for a courtesy visit at FIFA HQ in Zurich, Switzerland.
Yıldırım Demiroren made a statement upon returning from FIFA meeting to Turkey. Demiroren said ‘ Me and my team met Mr. Blatter then other committees of FIFA. Our meeting with Mr. Blatter ran for one hour, the other meetings tree.
‘ We talked about the vision and aims of our federation and concluded that FIFA and TFF share same goals. Mr Blatter noted that Turkish Football is of significant importance for international football. After our meeting with Mr Blatter, we met representitives from FIFA marketing and sales committees. He have been informed and we have discussed the latest developments on the upcoming Under 20 World Cup whick Turkey is hosting next year.’

When asked about if there had been talks at FIFA meeting about latest developments on Turkey Match Fixing scandal and penalties from TFF and UEFA, Demiroren answered ‘ FIFA did not ask us anything, we only reported the latest on the status in Turkey ‘
The Arbitration Committee of the Turkish Football Federation rejected appeals of its previously declared verdicts in the ongoing match-fixing hearings earlier this week.
With the committee ‘s decision, the Turkish Football Federation cleared all 16 clubs — incl. Fenerbahçe, Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş — of involvement in the match-fixing scandal from 2010-11 football season , which rocked Turkey fundamentally.
