Tatler magazine named Prince Harry Man Of The Year / British Royal Family News

Prince Harry has been named Man Of The Year by Tatler magazine, which has called him “the big-hearted warrior prince”.

The 28-year-old royal – who caused a scandal when he was pictured naked partying in his Las Vegas hotel room in August – appears on the cover of the November edition of the high society magazine to mark the accolade.

The photographs were taken in the Bahamas when he visited as part of the tours undertaken by the Royal Family to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Prince – wearing full military dress – appears behind the heading “Dirty Harry” and the taglines “Prince Harry: the girls, the gangs, the gaffes”.

An accompanying six-page article chronicles the Prince’s exploits, from his military and charity work to smoking cannabis and his infamous Las Vegas trip.

In the major feature, which also includes pages of photos of Harry from his first day at nursery school to the present, Tatler says: “He is the big-hearted warrior prince who, when he isn’t flying an attack helicopter in Afghanistan, works tirelessly for his wounded fellow soldiers.”

It claims to have spoken to some of those who know him best – “plus an old flame or two”. Tatler calls him the “most compelling, charasmatic royal for generations”.

It is the first time in two decades that a man has appeared on the cover of the magazine.

The last time Tatler had a male cover star was in 1992 – fittingly when Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles, graced its front page.

Kate Middleton featured on the front cover earlier this year and in 2011, while her sister Pippa also got her own front cover after the Royal Wedding, although neither actually posed for the magazine.

Prince Harry featured on the cover of British GQ last year, along with wounded service personnel.
