Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon ‘s brother-in-law has been shot dead in the Tajikistan capital, Dushanbe, police sources report. Tajikistan News

Dushanbe / NationalTurk – Mumin Safarov, the husband of Rakhmon’s sister, was killed by 5 gunshot wounds when he was attacked in the south-west of the city late on Wednesday in Tajikstan

Mumin was head of the state forest safety watchdog Tajikles. An investigation in underway. Tajikstan Media groups have criticised Tajikistan for clamping down on the press over the past couple of years. Emomali Rakhmon, the Tajik president, has ruled the mountainous and poor country since the end of a civil war in the mid-1990s.

Tajikistan blocked the release of  the Dictator by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen last month  and earlier in 2012 it cut local access to Facebook, the social networking site, after it carried copies of an article predicting revolution in Tajikistan.
