  • “Game of Thrones” author George RR Martin: Oh no, wrong book / Culture News

    Tageskarte 27.08.14/ Buch/ Wild Cards/ George R.R. Martin

George RR Martin, creator of “Game of Thrones” world, has published a new work. Unfortunately not what his fans wait – why some take the “useless bullshit” quite angry.

It goes with him to the Dragon to knight, to sex, to war. And for everything else. The books of author George RR Martin US-reach requirements in Harry Potter dimensions. Long the man hailed as “the new Tolkien”. The film adaptation of his epic, the TV-series “Game of Thrones” may be considered as the most popular fantasy series of the world.

Five volumes of the original book, “A Song of Ice and Fire” have so far appeared, seven are planned. The fans have been waiting for years and with increasing impatience to tape 6, “The Winds of Winter”. But George R. R. Martin, 66, takes its time. Now he has published a kind of prologue to his great saga: a work entitled “The World of Ice and Fire”, which will be released in March 2015 to German.

Martin therein become the historian of his own myths. In the style of a medieval world chronicle the book documents the stories of the people, cities and rulers of the fictional continent of Westeros – from the dawn of time to the point at which employs the novel series.

We learn how the first people Westeros entered. When and why the great ice wall was built. How the royal family of the Targaryen gained power and lost again. It tells everything from a scholar named Maester Yandel who shall collect the often unreliable and contradictory sources which he finds in the great library of the city of Oldtown.

Thick and heavy is this history, 300 pages long, lush illustrated and bound in a leather imitation. It is a book for geeks, co-authored by two super-freaks, Elio Garcia and Linda Antonsson. The two have for many years the largest “Ice and Fire” fan forum.

Many fans of the actual Fantasy series, however, have taken the compendium with indignation or anger. You would like to read the next “Ice and Fire” band, but merely “a book with useless bullshit that does not advance the plot,” as one reviewer of books on Goodreads Drools platform.

The relationship between the author and his followers is complicated. It is not the first time that George RR Martin is tackled hard by his fans. What bizarre proportions that can accept, we show in this Storify.

  • We know her as Ros in Game Of Thrones Sexy Burlesque artists Esme Bianco, Photos / Magazine News

    Esme-Bianco-Sexy-Game-Of-Thrones

In the series Game Of Thrones Westeros’es  famous prostitute Ros! Esme Bianco actually an expert dancer in sexy adult arts.

Esme Bianco  is an English actress, model and burlesque/cabaret performer. She has appeared in a number of short films and music videos, as well as performing at live events including the Brit Awards. She featured prominently in the Agent Provocateur lingerie label 2003 campaign. She appeared in a well reviewed show at the Victoria and Albert Museum singing “Put the Blame on Mame”, a song made famous by Rita Hayworth.

In Game of Thrones she is playing the role of Ros, a prostitute working in Winterfell. She was confirmed in the role of 5 October 2009. Her character was formerly known as “Red-Headed Whore” until she was given a name at George R.R. Martin’s suggestion.

    Esme-Bianco-Sexy-Game-Of-Thrones-21

George R.R Martin has suggested she could return in later episodes. Ros is the first character created specifically for the television series who is not in the books. She initially appeared as a guest star in the first season and returned in this role for the second season. She features in several of the show’s infamous “sexposition” scenes. Her role ended in a surprise twist halfway through the third season.

Esme Bianco’s Ros is the main one who doesn’t have her origins in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels. The Winterfell prostitute moved up in the world when she joined forces with Aiden Gillen’s Littlefinger in Season 2, and Bianco teased that Ros will continue to move up the King’s Landing food chain in Season 3.

    Esme-Bianco-Sexy-Game-Of-Thrones-15

“She digs deeper. She kind of gets stuck into some intriguing plots,”  Esme Bianco told  at the “Game of Thrones” Season 3 premiere. As for which actors she got to work with in Season 3, Bianco hedged, “There’s always a little bit more Aiden, but I don’t want to give too much away. I don’t want to spoil anything for you.”

And it would be a spoiler, because not even fans of the books know the direction that Ros’s story will head in. “Nobody does! Even I don’t,” Bianco said with a laugh. “It’s absolutely fantastic, and it also means that I can try and bribe [showrunners] David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] to like write me little bits I want. So at the end of Season 1 I was like, ‘Hey, what do you guys say to a horse in Season 2?’ They’re like, ‘Well, we’ll see.’”

    Esme-Bianco-Sexy-Game-Of-Thrones-19

She continued, “I was so jealous because everyone else has these amazing costumes and they’re learning archery and they’re learning horse riding and I’m like butt naked. So I’m like, ‘Okay, how about Season 2 either give me a costume or I’ll ride naked if I can have a horse. They’re like, ‘We’ll see what we can do.’ I got a costume.”

Bianco shared why she thinks it’s important to have a wild card like Ros on a show like “Game of Thrones.” She said that it’s key to keep the series “fresh” when so many people have read the books it’s based on.

    Esme-Bianco-Sexy-Game-Of-Thrones-18

“Even though [the showrunners have] taken the books and they’ve kind of run in their own direction with it a little bit, I think it’s good to have those characters,” she said. “Also you need those characters sometimes to sort of fill some of the gaps. The thing that’s great about Ros is that she’s a woman who’s very different from some of the other women on the show. There’s Daenerys who’s really strong and then there’s like the more major characters, but I think she kind of fills in for some of the subtleties, I guess. And also she helps pull people’s secrets out. Everyone likes to tell Ros a secret. She’s a listening ear.”

One of Bianco’s most significant scenes in Season 2 was the one where she was sent to have sex with Jack Gleeson’s King Joffrey. He turned his sadistic streak on Ros and another prostitute named Daisy, showing just how evil he actually is.

    Esme-Bianco-Sexy-Game-Of-Thrones-17

“That was one of the hardest scenes that I filmed,” Bianco told . “I didn’t expect it to be because (Jack Gleeson) is such a nice guy. He’s so sweet, and then I walked on set with him and he just turns. It was really inspiring actually because that flip, it was major. I’ll tell you what, I was like head to toe goosebumps that entire day. And it was hard to film. It was a brutal, brutal scene.”

    Esme-Bianco-Sexy-Game-Of-Thrones-20

She added, “It was hard for me to watch, and I know my mum was really upset after she saw that scene, which is saying something considering how amazing my parents have been and how much they had to put up with in Season 1. That was one of the scenes that really got them.”

Actresses Esme Bianco and Sahara Knite are remembered for erotically demonstrating particular techniques of the trade on each other. Knite was previously employed as a clothing technologist until eventually joining the adult industry. Her role in the series ended the same season.

With one side of her hair shaved off, and lashings of striking dark make-up, the beautiful actress  gushed about her time filming The Hunger Games with ‘big guy’ Liam Hemsworth.

  • Game Of Thrones Season 4:Westeros happy but who killed the King Joffrey ? Video / HBO News

    Game-Of-Thrones-Season-4-King-Joffrey-Dead

Westeros and all over the World was happy last night because first class bastard King Joffrey died now the question is who killed Joffrey ?

It was a thing of beauty, really. First just a little cough, some garbled speech. Then a strangled wheezing noise bursting out from the back of his throat. Cries of “He’s choking!” and a crazed, panic-stricken Cersei diving onto the ground, screaming in confusion and despair. This is going to sound really sick, but damn it was satisfactory to watch Joffrey as his face turned that delicious shade of purple and tears of blood rolled out of his eyes. The final glimpse of the mad boy king was his distorted, discolored face, with its bulging, blazing green eyes and frothy vomit clinging to his chin and neck.

Joffrey Baratheon, very possibly the most hated man in Westeros, met an untimely end at his own wedding where he was poisoned by an unknown assailant, coughing and spluttering to death in the arms of Cersai Lannister.

The King’s mauve cheeks led to the scene being dubbed the ‘Purple Wedding’, a follow-up to season 3’s rather more sanguine Red Wedding, which saw three Starks bumped off by the Lannisters.

Most fans were delighted by Joffrey’s departure, with one tweeting: “For once, Game of Thrones has caused me happy tears instead of sad ones.”

As many expected, Joffrey was killed during the Purple Wedding.

Joffrey ends up dying in front of the procession.

He was poisoned while eating the wedding feast in his throne room. The poisoning is blamed on Tyrion Lannister by former Queen Cersei.

Tyrion was humiliated in front of a crowd of people by Joffrey, leading many other characters to believe he was involved in the murder plot.

Yes, he was just a child, but in a television show filled with vicious monsters who slice babies in half and sociopathic sickos who flay and castrate their victims just for funzies, King Joffrey was probably the most hated character of them all (which is really quite something when you think about it). And if you think I’m wrong, just let your mind float back to poor crossbowed Ros.

Of course, Joffrey and Margaery’s nuptials aren’t the first on Game of Thrones to dissolve into murder and mayhem. In fact, it’s getting downright dangerous to attend a wedding in Westeros. But unlike the Red Wedding, where the sudden slaughter left viewers speechless and mourning, the writers primed us for King Joffrey’s lolling head, showcasing some of his very worst tendencies in this superbly paced episode.

Most people prepare for their wedding reception by crafting a sweet speech, but Joffrey went out of his way to humiliate his Uncle Tyrion and sicken Sansa. The deadly chalice of wine passed between them both, but with the poisoning of the cup taking place offstage, now it’s time to wonder: What heroic soul is responsible ?

Game Of Thrones Season 4:There are currently four suspects

Game-of-Thrones-Tyrion-LannisterTyrion Lannister: OK, let’s get the most obvious candidate out of the way first, because if you’ve watched more than 5 minutes of GoT you know that there isn’t a snowball’s chance in one of the seven hells that the person accused of the crime actually committed it.

But Tyrion had more motive and opportunity than anyone else. On just this day, he’d had his gift hacked to pieces, wine poured over his head, and a troupe of little people brought out simply to shame him. Not to mention the humiliation Tyrion suffered at his own wedding when Joffrey removed the stool, rendering Tyrion unable to complete the simple rite of cloaking his bride.

Smart, fierce, brave Tyrion had truly helped rescue King’s Landing during the Battle of Blackwater and has only his scarred face to show for it, while Joffrey has had a (admittedly hideous) statue erected in his honor. Despite his cowardice, idiocy, and sheer sociopathy, Joffrey is king, while Tyrion serves as his cup bearer. But Tyrion has threatened Joffrey’s life before (“Monsters are dangerous, and just now kings are dying like flies.”) and there is the small matter of his pouring the wine that kills the crazy boy king…

The-Tyrells-Game-Of-ThronesThe Tyrells: It’s been clear from the very beginning that the Tyrells are either great fools or great sages to allow their precious Margaery to wed Joffrey. True, as queen she’d hold great power. But Joffrey has openly displayed signs of his cruelty, and Margaery’s recent admissions (see: last week’s sparrow necklace incident) indicate something beyond mere awareness.

The Queen of Thorns is no simpleton, and it wouldn’t surprise this viewer if Joffrey’s death (which conveniently took place before the two could be bed and Margaery’s virtue could be comprised) has been Olenna’s plan from the very beginning. Why else provide her with such deliciously ironic lines: “Killing a man at a wedding. Horrid. What sort of monster would do such a thing? As if men needed more reasons to fear marriage.”

Game-Of-Thrones-Oberyn-MartelPrince Oberyn Martell: The Red Viper has only been around for two episodes, but his fury at the Lannisters goes back at least a decade, and in the short time we’ve known him, it’s been made rather clear that self-control is not Oberyn’s forte.

(Knife through the wrist for a mere auditory irritation, anyone?) Joffrey’s family was complicit in the murders of his sister and her children, and as he reminded Tyrion in last week’s episode, the Martells also pay their debts. A child for a child? That seems like his style. Why else would Oberyn attend the wedding, if not to seek his revenge?

Game-Of-Thrones-Sansa-StarkSansa Stark: Sansa has truly been exposed to the worst of Joffrey’s whims. She would have been in her rights to want him dead in Season 1, and now, after 2 years as his abused captive-cum-aunt, even glancing in his direction must fill her with rage.

Fury alone would be enough motive for Sansa. He did have her direwolf slaughtered (despite the fact that it was her sister’s wolf, Nymeria, who had attacked Joffrey on the King’s Road) to cover up his own cowardice, and then, in one of his first public acts as king, had a man’s tongue ripped out right in front of her face.

Then, of course, there’s the small matter of his beheading her father despite promising Sansa that he would show mercy and then forcing her to stare the fly-covered, spiked head in the eyes. There were also the multiple beatings, the threats to have her stripped naked in front of the entire court, and a whole slew of vile, disgusting comments he’d slid in her direction, including the remark at his wedding breakfast that every time he used his new sword, “it’ll be like cutting off Ned Stark’s head all over again.” So might Sansa have poisoned the cup (which, you’ll note, she had ample opportunity to handle)? I’ll almost be disappointed if she didn’t.

    Emilia Clarke - Daenerys Targaryen
    Emilia Clarke – Daenerys Targaryen

Played by the beautiful and immensely talented actress Emilia Clarke, Daenerys is one of the strongest and most resilient female characters in Game of Thrones.

With her Targaryen-silver hair, along with her extremely sexy Dothraki rags and Qartheen clothing, Dany has captured the audiences imagination by portraying the once young, abused girl who has now grown up to be the strong, powerful Khaleesi and Mother of Dragons.

Her mother-like qualities, along with her fierce and fiery Targaryen temper, are a perfecly sexy combination. Daenerys is a naturally kind, loving women, but she will take what is hers with fire and blood if she has to. You gotta love a woman who knows what she wants.

Lena Headey Cersei, the Lioness of Lannister

    Lena Headey -Cersei Lannister
    Lena Headey -Cersei Lannister

Portrayed by Lena Headey, Cersei Lannister is the beautiful, complicated Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

She has been essential to the twisted plot of Game of Thrones throughout the course of both seasons and has proven to be a cunning adversary for the men fighting over the Iron Throne. As Tywin Lannister’s first-born child and twin sister to the Kingslayer, Cersei was betrothed to Robert Baratheon after he rebelled against the “Mad” King Aerys and took the throne for himself.

She currently holds the title of Queen Regent until her son Joffrey comes of age, while trying to tame and prepare the power-hungry young king for when it comes his time to rule. Cersei is often depicted in a negative light due to her willful and ambitious nature.

She has a hard time dealing with the limitations placed on females in Westeros. Incredibly, she has carried out an incestuous relationship with her twin brother Jaime for years, giving birth to three illegitimate children.

In order to keep this fact quiet, Cersei is extremely protective of her children and will kill any man who attempts to reveal her secret. These very events are what started the War of the Five Kings.

Natalie Dormer  Margaery Tyrell, the Shrewd Seductress of Highgarden

    Natalie Dormer - Margaery Tyrell
    Natalie Dormer – Margaery Tyrell

Margaery Tyrell, portrayed by Natalie Dormer, is the only daughter to Lord of Highgarden, Mace Tyrell, and sister to Loras Tyrell, the Knight of Flowers.

A high-born lady, Margaery is a very intelligent, cunning, and shrewd young lady. She became the teenage wife of Renly Baratheon after he declared himself king, right up until Melisandre’s shadow baby came and gave him an early curtain call.

While married to Margaery, Renly was having a very secret, and very gay, love affair with her brother Loras. Margaery didn’t seem to mind; however, and even offered to play the role of her brother in order to please her sexually confused king. I guess she aims to please her king in any way.

    Carice Van Houten - Melisandre
    Carice Van Houten – Melisandre

Carice Van Houten is the red-headed temptress known as Melisandre. The Red Woman has played a pivotal role this season with her fiery red hair, red robes, and mysterious nature adding to the allure of this exotic character.

Melisandre claims to be a priestess from an eastern religion that worships a god called R’hllor the Lord of Light. She closely advises Stannis Baratheon, one of the many people fighting for the Iron Throne, on how to be victorious in the War of the Five Kings.

She is convinced that Stannis is the the reincarnation of Azor Ahai, a mythical hero who wields a fiery sword and has been prophesied to defeat the divine nemisis of R’hllor, called The Great Other.

Melisandre employs the use of a certain type of black magic, sex rituals, and is fond of saying “the night is dark and full of terrors” right before giving birth to shadow demons.

Played by actress Rose Leslie, Ygritte is a wildling woman and scout for Mance Rayder’s army. Jon Snow encounters her, and is asked to execute her, during his trecherous hike across the lands north of The Wall.

He is unable to carry out the sentence, however, and succumbs to Ygritte’s seductive qualities.

Ygritte is best described as being a strong-willed woman and extremely witty. Her red hair, referred to as being “kissed by fire” among wildlings, is considered lucky, very rare, and can act as an alluring quality and male aphrodisiac. Ygritte is the ultimate survivor and immensely skilled in battle.

  • Game Of Thrones Season 3:Final countdown for HBO serial Game Of Thrones third season, Video Trailer / Showbiz News

After three footage-less promos, the first real trailer for Game of Thrones‘ third season debuted in the Worldwide on Friday evening.

For the benefit of those who’ve read ahead in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire saga, we’ve attempted to unpack what the new trailer tells us. Plenty of spoilers lay ahead…

Our last glimpse of Westeros in the chilling final moments of season two left us with Samwell hiding terrified from a passing army of wights Beyond the Wall, so it’s only fitting that that’s where the first season three trailer begins. The White Walkers are nowhere to be seen in the opening time-lapsed shot of the hostile land in which Jon Snow, now feigning desertion from the Night’s Watch and on his way to meet Mance Rayder, is stranded.

The sun and clouds dash across the bleak Northern landscape accompanied by the voice of Lord Varys (Conleth Hill), who ushers fans into the trailer with the words “It’s been a long time, my old friend”. He’s not wrong. By the time the season three US premiere comes around on the 31st of March, we’ll have spent precisely three-hundred-and-one days apart from HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Tyrion’s (Peter Dinklage) is the first face we see, and his toned-down post-battle scar will come as no surprise to those who’ve kept up with the season three promo images. Despite the scar being described in A Clash of Kings as “long and crooked, starting a hair under his left eye and ending on the right side of his jaw. Three quarters of his nose was gone, and a chunk of his lip”, The Halfman is looking mostly intact here.

Then it’s back Beyond the Wall, as Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) and a raiding party scale the icy edifice towards Queenscrown and eventually, Castle Black. It’s possible here that Tormund’s role has been altered to encompass that of Styr, the Magnar of Thenn and leader of the wildling group sent by Mance to go over the wall.
As the opening lines of New York chillwave duo Ms Mr’s Bones kick in, we’re presented with our first daylight look at Dragonstone, Stannis Baratheon’s island castle and the original seat of the Targaryens. The castle is identifiable as that seen in silhouette in season two opener, The North Remembers, glimpsed in the backdrop to the beach shot of Melisandre and Stannis burning the Seven.

A rowing boat bearing two unidentifiable figures can be seen in the foreground, moving away from shore. One is dark, and one fair, but it’s anyone’s best guess as to who they are. Davos Seaworth and Edric Storm perhaps? The pair could, of course, be extras in an establishing shot (though where’s the fun in that?).

After Tywin Lannister strides into the Red Keep’s Great Hall, to see Joffrey in characteristic Lannister garb upon the Iron Throne, we’re whisked away to what looks very much like Harrenhal. If the cursed castle is where Robb and Catelyn Stark survey this stack of corpses as the ominous words “death is coming for everyone and everything” echo behind them, it indicates another detour from George R.R. Martin’s novels. The mother and son could, of course, have happened upon the carnage en route to Riverrun, at their stopover at Oldstones, or on their journey back to The Twins, but creating distinctive and instantly recognisable environments for each of the saga’s many locations is a particular skill of the Game of Thrones team, and those stone arch exteriors say Harrenhal to us.

Then comes a brief look at Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) being followed by – we think – disgraced former maester Qyburn (Anton Lesser), which would presumably place him and Brienne in the custody of The Brave Companions

Bran, looking as if he’s stood upright thus possibly in a dream, then looses an arrow at an unseen target, while Arya, now a prisoner of the Brotherhood Without Banners, watches Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) light his sword afire. Look closely and you can see it’s definitely Dondarrion lighting the flame, not Paul Kaye as Thyros of Myr.

We’d hazard that the Northern twang to the portentous words heard as a solitary White Walker is seen advancing through a wood puts them in the mouth of Ygritte (Rose Leslie). Further darkness comes with a shot of a hooded topless figure bound and strung up by his arms. Eagle-eyed viewers will remember that the last time we saw a certain former ward of Ned Stark, he was mutinied against by his Ironborn companions and in the process of having a hood placed over his head…

After a brief look at a pack of wildlings running South of The Wall, we’re finally taken across the Narrow Sea to Astapor, where Dany, having retrieved her dragons from the House of the Undying in the season two finale, now commands an army of Unsullied.

Despite dominating the Red Keep in season two, Lena Headey’s Cersei isn’t given much screen time in this trailer, save a short glimpse by candlelight here, a silent moment between her and Sansa, and a shot amongst the ‘revenge’ montage at the end.

Paid more attention, and for very good reason, is Catelyn Stark, seen here urging son Robb, King in the North, to show his enemies how it feels to lose what they love.

Back behind the Wall, the trailer returns to Jon Snow’s progress amongst Mance Rayder’s freemen. A shot of Mackenzie Crook as Orell the skinchanger gaining a birds-eye-view of the surroundings by warging into his eagle is followed by Jon looking at him askance, while Mance Rayder (Ciaran Hinds) threatens to the light the biggest fire the North has ever seen.

Back at the Red Keep comes a moment that can only have been taken from the wedding of Tyrion and Sansa. In A Storm of Swords, Tyrion refuses to subject Sansa to the bedding ritual, and – in his cups – threatens to castrate Joffrey for attempting to force the issue, “The Imp slammed his dagger down in the table, where it stood quivering. ‘Then you’ll service your own bride with a wooden prick. I’ll geld you, I swear it’”. Is it as satisfying an uncle/nephew moment as that slap inThe Old Gods and the New? Better, we’d say.

Next comes an out-of-sequence Ygritte shooting an arrow in the rain. The only significant arrow Jon’s wildling lover releases in the saga is the one that finds its way into Jon’s leg after his defection at Queenscrown, which is what we can suppose we’re seeing here.

Following on from Beric Donarrion’s sword-lighting earlier comes a tantalising excerpt of his trial-by-combat fight with Sandor Clegane (Rory McCann).

The trailer’s final words belong to (we think) the man who uttered its first, Lord Varys. The theme of revenge is raised as shots in turn of Robb and Arya Stark, followed by Jaime, Cersei and Tyrion Lannister appear momentarily on screen. Attempting to list the various revenges sought by that little lot is likely to become so tangled, you may well be better off listing characters between whom there isn’t any bad blood.

A treat though the trailer was, it leaves us considering what and who, wasn’t featured. Despite their growing importance in the narrative, the Tyrells and the Freys were conspicuous by their absence. Understandably, a certain bloody event didn’t get a look-in aside from oblique allusion. Though we met new faces Mance Rayder, Tormund Giantsbane and Orell, there was little sign of fellow season three newcomers the Reed siblings, Thyros of Myr, Selyse Baratheon, Ser Brynden Tully, or the clouded-in-secrecy role of Ramsay Bolton. Familiar characters Brienne, Osha, Hodor, Littlefinger, Melisandre and more were also kept out of the way. With any luck, that could mean another, longer trailer is on its way in the next thirty-five days…

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on Sunday the 31st of March, and to Sky Atlantic on Monday the 1st of April.

  • Game Of Thrones Season 3:We will meet with Westeros March 31, 2013, premiere Season 3 again / HBO News Trailer Video

Waiting a long time for Game Of Thrones, At the end of the HBO gave the  release date March 31 2013  we all go back to Westeros.

How impatiently are we awaiting the March 31, 2013, premiere Season 3 of HBO’s Game of Thrones? Enough to be geeking out over a sound-and-graphics-only teaser trailer that actually contains little and less.

The teaser ran tonight shortly before a new episode of Boardwalk Empire, and featured some portentous foreshadowing.

“The great war is between death and life, ice and fire,” declares a disembodied female voice as three swords impale the “O” in GoT—which then morphs into the premiere date for the show: 03.31.13.

“If we lose, the night will never end,” she concludes over booming drums. Now, was that Carice van Houten as Melisandre? Tough to tell, though that’s exactly the sort of day/night, ice/fire, for-us-or-against us declaration she makes all the time. Loads of fun at parties, our Mel.

Whoever it was, kudos for working in the name of the George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of novels upon which the show is based. Also, major points to the graphics team for those three flying swords, suggesting the title of the third book, A Storm of Swords—which many fans think is best of the five so far.

Does this little taste get you even more fired up for the further adventures of houses Stark, Lannister, Baratheon and Targaryen? Sound off the comments!

The actress, who plays the villainous queen Cersei Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones, filed for divorce from musician Peter Loughran on July 20, according to court documents filed in L.A. Superior County Court.

And another one bites the dust. TMZ reports that “Game of Thrones” actress Lena Headey has filed for divorce from her musician husband Peter Loughran. Though details are brief, the 38-year-old British actress reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” when she filed the divorce documents last week at the L.A. County Superior Court.

  • Game Of Thrones Season 3 New characters Announced / Video

Game Of Thrones Season 3 Casts A Ton Of Characters Including The Queen Of Thorns

HBO’s Game of Thrones might have set the record for the largest casting announcement in the history of Comic-Con, which is fitting because the show was not only one of the premiere venues of the event but also already boasts one of the largest ensembles on television. It’s not only a large cast but a great one and this long list of additions looks to continue the trend. You may not know their names or even recognize their faces but hey, you probably didn’t know most of the players before their now almost iconic roles.

I waited seven hours to not get into the Game of Thrones panel but thankfully Kelly was present for the festivities and you can read her live blog here. Although most of the panel was devoted to a discussion with the current characters, they did open with a brief video to introduce some, but not all, of the new faces. Take a look and then I’ll fill you in on the actors and their parts on the show.

Well, they certainly all look the part, no? Some of the casting news had been previously announced or at least speculated about but I might as well round up all the names in one post. Clive Russell (Sherlock Holmes) will play Brynden “The Blackfish” Tully, the estranged uncle of Cat and renown knight vital to Robb’s cause.

A lot of fans have been eagerly awaiting the casting got the next character and Tobias Menzies has been brought in to play Edmure Tully. Edmure is Cat’s younger brother as well as the new Lord of Riverrun and Menzies is a great actor probably best known for his role of Brutus on Rome. He was my favourite character on the previous HBO series and I’m excited to see him in the cast. Will need to find some red hair though.

Another exciting announcement, even though most fans were pushing for Maggie Smith, is Diana Rigg being hired to portray Lady Olenna Tyrell, perhaps better known by her nickname, “The Queen of Thorns.” Thorns is Margaery and Loras Tyrell’s grandmother and a strong matriarch for the House of Flowers.

    Game Of Thrones: New Characters

Mackenzie Crook, who is probably best known for being comic relief in Pirates of the Carribean but to me he’ll always be Gareth from BBC’s The Office. A great character actor, Crook has been brought in to play a wildling character named Orell. But more than just a wildling raider, Orell is also a warg (or skin-changer) which means he’s able to enter the mind of other creatures much like Bran can with Summer.

Read why Game of Thrones has been found malicous by Turkish Armed forces !

And speaking of Bran, Season 3 will finally see the appearance of the Reeds, a pair of teenaged ‘Crannogmen’ whose father fought alongside Eddard Stark back during Robert’s Rebellion. Unwaveringly devoted to the Starks, Ellie Kendrick (Anne Frank in the 2010 Masterpiece production of The Diary of Anne Frank) has been cast as Meera with Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Love Actually) playing her younger brother Jojen.

Next come a pair of Baratheon ladies. As previously reported, Kerry Ingram will be playing the role of Shireen Baratheon, Stannis’ sickly but very smart daughter (but no mention of who will be Patchface). However, her mother, Selyse Baratheon (Florent) has also joined the ensemble with Tara Fitzgerald set to play the part. Stannis’ wife is a devout believer in the Lord of Light and is often left behind or shut away from the world. How else can Stannis get his groove on with Melissandre.

Three members of the Brotherhood Without Banners have also found their actors with Paul Kaye playing Thoros of Myr, Richard Dormer as Beric Dondarrion and Philip McGinley as Anguy. Thoros of Myr is a Red Priest (yes, for the Lord of Light) and I know Kaye from his role as Frankie Wilde in It’s All Gone Pete Tong. The leader of the Brotherhood – the group sent by Eddard to apprehend the Mountain, Gregor Clegane – is Beric Dondarrion, a great warrior known as the Lightning Lord who will be played by Richard Dormer. Beric made a brief appearance in Season 1 but it wasn’t Dormer playing the role. Anguy is the Brotherhood’s skilled archer and McGinely had a small part in Prometheus.

It’s been long rumored that Kristofer Hivju, from the remake of The Thing would be playing role in Game of Thrones but, because of his red hair, I always assumed he’d end up a Tully. Nope, Hivju has been cast as Tormund Giantsbane, the number two wildling behind Mance Rayder. He’s a great warrior, known for his imposing stature and giant beard.

The final two characters to join the cast are similar in that they both serve their powerful Queens. Nathalie Emannuel (Hollyoaks) has been added to the ensemble as Missandei, as a young slave she was educated by her masters before ending up in the service of Daenerys. The other addition is Anton Lesser as Qyburn, a Maester of the Citadel who was stripped of his chains and ends up being very important to Queen Cersei Lannister. Sorry, Queen Regent Cersei.

  • Turkey : Military officers accused of sexual abuse and insulting Turkish ‘values’ following ‘Game of Thrones’ screening

This time she torched officers from Turkish army..
This time she torched officers from Turkish army..

Nine personell from Turkish army are accused of sexual abuse and insulting Turkish values after screening the popular US-TV series ‘ Game of Thrones ‘ in military class.

İzmir, Turkey – Game of Thrones is rocking Tv-Series charts globally and recently the beautiful show caused controversy among Turkish Army as well!

Game of Thrones, the popular series from HBO which is a massive hit across the world , was shown during a class at a military high school in Turkey as part of foreign language classes. Senior students, who are preparing to enter military academies, completed several assignments after watching the series, including translating and studying the English language material related to the show.

After completing two seasons of the series over the course of more than 2 months, an anonymous letter was sent to the school’s administration which complained about the use of the TV series as an educational tool. The letter allegedly written by the parents of a student, claimed the series involved ‘ corrupted and perverted ‘ sex scenes and depicted Turks as ‘ a barbarian tribe with perverted religious rituals.’

The ignorant parents might have overlooked that Game of Thrones is set in a fantasy world,  created by American author George R. R. Martin in his books of ‘ A Song of Ice and Fire ‘. But the following official report released by a committee of instructors is more pathetic:

Official report from Turkish military committee : Game of Thrones is perverted and pornographic

A team of instructors were  tasked with studying the show to determine whether the claims were true. The final report issued by the military committee of instructors said the series contained indeed ‘ pornographic elements ‘ and ‘ perverted and violent ways of sexual intercourse.’ The official report also mentioned Game of Thrones encouraged the consumption of alcohol.

‘ The show in question may damage the evolving individual in ways extremely difficult to amend in the future,’ the military report states.

Here comes the weirdest part of the report

Game of Thrones was also found to be insulting to Turkish values and Turkishness by the military committee, who claimed that  ‘ even though it is not directly mentioned, it is easily understood by the audience.’

‘ Our nation is shown as barbarians with perverted religious beliefs and customs,’ the ridiculous report reads. ‘ The screening of this show may discourage students from their occupation, as well as weaken patriotic emotions.’

    Dismissal of charges

The charges were dismissed by the military prosecutor, who stated that the show, which is permitted for audience over the age of 13, was screened for students between the ages of 16 and 19. The accused officers, two colonels, one female lieutenant colonel and a captain were placed in different posts around Turkey.

The administration of the military academy in İzmir received a second letter shortly after the initial investigation which claimed the formerly accused army officers, and five additional names, had insulted their superiors. A military investigation was immediately launched.

Game of Thrones controversy in Turkey

The Ministry of Defense issued a surprise decision signed by the minister personally which overruled the previous decision to dismiss charges. The ministry’s ruling put the previous charges against the nine army officers back in motion.

Two separate investigations, [one military and the second civilian] involving nine different army officers are currently underway. The accused officers’ lawyer claimed earlier that the students were pressured into signing testimonies against their instructors, including Mustafa Küçük, a student who was expelled from the military academy in İzmir despite having the highest grade in the military high school.
