Radical Islamists are said to have attacked three Kurdish villages in northern Syria. They set up according to eye witnesses: several people – including children.
During an attack by Islamists on a village in northern Syria apparently 15 Kurds were killed. The opposition Observatory for Human Rights and a photographer reported on Friday unanimously by the attack of the group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (Isis) the day before. Among the dead in the village of Ras al-Ain had seven children.
The Kurdish Center in Frankfurt, Siva Azad, starts from at least 16 deaths. The activists moved there, according to the extremists with tanks and heavy weapons into the region. At the beginning of the attack, a car bomb had exploded. The area was therefore at the time of the attack under the control of Kurdish militias, battling it out regularly fights with jihadists.
Ras al-Ain is located in the oil-rich province Hassaka near the Turkish border, where many members of the Kurdish minority in Syria live.
Isis drives for six months preceding an offensive against the Kurds and various rebel groups in Syria. This weakens the continuing for more than three years uprising against President Bashar al-Assad. The group formerly belonged to al-Qaida, but was excluded after a power struggle.
In the Syrian civil war about 160,000 people have been killed.
