Syria Bus explosion kills 3 injures dozens
officials say that 3 people have died and dozens injured in an explosion at a petrol station in the Syrian capital Damascus.
The tyre of the crowded bus had exploded while air was being pumped into it said Syrian Interior Minister
The bus that was carrying Iranian pilgrims visiting the Sayyida Zeinab shrine for Shia Muslims was badly damaged.
The explosion was first thought to be an attack as last year a car bomb went off killing 17 people on the road leading to the shrine which was blamed on Sunni militants.
Mr Sammour ruled out an attack after Thursday’s explosion, which injured many people.
He says the bus driver and two petrol station workers died when the tyre blew up as air was being pumped into it.
Eyewitnesses and media reports had earlier said six people had been killed.
The al-Sayyida Zeinab shrine, popular with Iranian pilgrims, is dedicated to the granddaughter of the Prophet Muhammad.
