North Korea plans to launch new rocket, South Korea states its a grave provocation and disguised attempt for nuclear weapon development and condemned its Northern neighbour on Monday.
Seoul / NationalTurk – South Korea condemned arch-rivals North Korea, as the communist and isolated North Korea planned a new rocket launch. South Korea condemned North Korea’ attempt immediately as a ‘ grave provocation ‘, stating it was a disguised attempt from North Korea to develop a long-range ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
Seoul governnment also raised a security alert in the South Korean capital, and showed its concern the North Korea plans nuclear tests following the ballistic missile launch.

North Korea declared on last Friday it would put a satellite into earth orbit in April barely two weeks after reaching an agreement with world gendarmerie Us and its Washington government to suspend long-range missile launches as part of a deal to restart food aid.
But officials in Pyongyang state it is using the rocket to launch a satellite to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kim Il-sung, founder of North Korea.
South Korea ‘s statement on North Korea rocket launch read by presidential spokesman Park Jun-ha: ‘ Our government defines North Korea’s so-called working satellite launch plan as a grave provocation to develop a long-distance delivery means for nuclear weapons by using ballistic missile technology.’

The secretive North has twice tested a nuclear device, but experts doubt whether it yet has the ability to miniaturise an atomic bomb to place atop a warhead while Washington states North Korea ‘s long-range ballistic missile programme is progressing quickly, US thinks North Korea nuclear threat genuine as North Korea can reach the American mainland with its ballistic missiles, which can carry nuclear warheads within five years.

Pyongyang is believed to have enough fissile material to make up to a dozen nuclear bombs, and in 2010 unveiled a uranium enrichment facility to go with its plutonium programme which opened a second route to building an atomic weapon.
On Monday, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak met the foreign and security-related ministers to discuss the North Korea ’s surprise declaration, which also flies in the face of a UN Security Council resolution banning long-range missile launches.

Park stated that South Korea would work closely with the United States, Japan, China and Russia – members of the six-party forum which deals with the North Korea’s nuclear programme – during next week’s Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul. It is always frustrating though that these countries all possess nuclear weapons arsenals and nobody can state something regarding their nuclear programmes.
North Korea’s weapons of mass destruction programme and nuclear programme is not on the agenda for the summit, but will be one of the major talking points on the sidelines of the meeting involving some 50 world leaders including Us President Barack Obama and Hu Jintao.
