Somali pirates release Tukish ship

Somali pirates released a Turkish-owned cargo ship and its crew of 21 people nearly four months after seizing the vessel.

The ship’s crew of 19 Turks and two Ukranians’s health were in good. A spokeswoman said the ship’s release came through negotiations but would not say whether a ransom was paid.

Nilgun Yamaner, who is a lawyer representing the ships owners, said “The pirates abandoned the ship, the Frigia, at 7:25 am (0425 GMT) this morning. It has since been under the captain’s control.”

She added that ship would take more than a week to return to Turkey.
