A small plane crashed at an airfield in Worms and burst into flames. A 49-year-old died. That’s what the police say. The man comes from Kirchheimbolanden in the southeast of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The aircraft was a two-seater Ikarus C42 ultralight aircraft. According to the police, it was almost completely destroyed in the crash. The 49-year-old was alone on the plane.

The reason for the crash is still unclear. The Worms criminal police have taken over the investigation in the case.
