Istanbul welcomes the portuguese superstar Christiano Ronaldo as he is guest for Besiktas Istanbul’s president, the ever controversial Demiroren.
Chairman Yıldırım Demiroren of Besiktas and Christiano Ronaldo are allegedly good friends, they know each other through prominent footballer agent Jorge Mendes, whose most spectacular client is Christiano Ronaldo.
Jorge Mendes is the agent of several Besiktas players and almost every day a Jorge Mendes related footballer is on Besiktas’ transfer list.

Demiroren has invited Christiano Ronaldo to Istanbul, Turkey for merely publicity and marketing purposes. This year saw a grand opening of a luxury shopping center in the heart of Istanbul, which belongs to Demiroren group, owned by Yildirim Demiroren.
The shopping mall stirred some controversy in Turkey recently, as claims on it being built illegaly and against the regulations of the ministry of culture and tourism in Turkey, since the construction of the mall threatened some historic buildings in the famous Istiklal Street, including a mosque.
