Robert De Niro’s grandson is dead
At 79, Robert De Niro recently became a father for the seventh time. Now there is sad news from the family.
Leandro De Niro Rodriguez was only 19 years old. The grandson of the multiple Oscar winner and Hollywood star, who himself was in front of the camera for “A Star Is Born”, among other things, is dead. His mother Drena De Niro made the news public. However, the 51-year-old did not give details of the circumstances of death.
She wrote on Instagram: “My beautiful, sweet angel. From the moment I felt you in my stomach, I have loved you beyond words.” She also posted a picture of her son. It shows a boy with deep black eyes and equally dark, long, curly hair.
Robert De Niro’s grieving daughter added, “I wish I was with you. I don’t know how I’m going to live without you, but I will try to move on and spread the love and light that you are gave me when I became your mother.”
“I’m so sorry my baby”
She “deeply loved and cherished” her son. But her love was apparently not enough to “save” Leandro. It remains unclear whether the mother wants to allude to her son’s illness or suicide. She ends her statement with the sentence: “I’m so sorry, my baby, I’m so sorry, rest in peace and in eternal paradise, my dear boy.”
At 51, Drena De Niro is Robert De Niro’s oldest child. The Hollywood star himself has not yet commented on his grandson’s death. The 79-year-old recently became a father for the seventh time. His current partner Tiffany Chen gave birth to a girl named Gia in May. Drena De Niro comes from a previous relationship: When Robert De Niro was dating actress Diahnne Abbott from 1976 to 1988, he adopted Drena as a child.
Grandson Robert De Niro passed away at age 19
Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, a grandson of American actor Robert de Niro (79), has died at the age of 19. His mother Drena De Niro announced this on Monday in a message on Instagram.
“My beautiful, sweet angel. I have loved you, without being able to describe it in words, ever since I felt you in my stomach. You are my joy, my heart and everything that was ever pure and real in my life. I wish I was with you now,” writes the 51-year-old actress, who does not state the cause of death.
“I don’t know how to live without you, but I will try to carry on and spread the love you made me feel when I became your mama. You were so loved and appreciated and I wish only love could have saved you.” Leandro, despite his still young age, was engaged in acting just like his mother and grandfather. He had roles in The Collection (2005), Cabaret maxime (2018) and also starred in the third remake of A star is born (2018).
Drena is the oldest of De Niro’s seven children. Her mother was his first wife, actress Diahnne Abbott. In May, the Goodfellas actor confirmed that his girlfriend Tiffany Chen recently gave birth to his seventh child, a girl they named Gia.
