Ridvan Dilmen Former Turkey legend in police questioning
Two legendary Turkish footballers, Tanju Çolak and Rıdvan Dilmen are being questioned by police over telephone listening probe.
Tanju Çolak, was seen entering the police station with a swarm of reporters and journalists surrounding him in Vatan Caddesi / Istanbul at 9.30 AM in the morning.
The former Galatasaray legend and Turkey International who was awarded the golden boot in the 1987-1988 season was seen entering the station and hurried to the B Block area of the building.
When the now, football pundit and newspaper columnist was asked why he had come to the station by the journalists he replied “I am going to the third floor only for a visit”. The third floor happened to be where the organised crime investigation unit is.
A while later when Çolak emerged he said “I am here as a witness, I told the officers what I know, but Ridvan is still being held.”
It has also emerged that Tanju Colak who was in a fierce football rivalry with Ridvan Dilmen in the 80’s was who complained to the police over telephone listening allegations.
The investigation by the Turkish police over unlawful telephone listening has resulted in 36 people including respected businessmen and Ridvan Dilmen to be brought to the police station to be questioned.
According to initial reports, the questioning of Dilmen has not link with the Match fixing investigation which saw over 50 footballers being arrested last month including professional footballers, managers and team officials.
