India’s newly elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked officials to resolve the peoples’ grievances on fast track basis.
New Delhi, May 28/Nationalturk – In order to ensure that government reaches at doorsteps of people, India’s newly elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who took over as Indian PM on May 26, Wednesday asked officials to resolve the peoples’ grievances on fast track basis.
“PM Modi held a preliminary meeting with PMO officials today. PMO officials made a detailed presentation on the structure and functions of the PMO,” an official spokesman said.
He said during the meeting, PM stressed on the officials to resolve the people’s grievances on fast track basis.
He emphasized to leverage modern technology and develop systems and processes for effective monitoring and resolution of issues which are particularly brought to his office.
Prime Minister also indicated that he would like his office to consider issues, especially those raised by the States on priority and with sensitivity.
‘Don’t appoint relatives as personal staff’
Sources said during the meeting PM Modi advised ministers not to appoint their relatives as personal staff.
The ministers have been advised to appoint secretaries and other personal staff only from the “general pool”.
According to political observers, by barring ministers from appointing personal staff of their choice, Indian PM has in a way ensured that no minister would be able to run his/her ministry as a personal fiefdom.
He is also said to have advised his ministers to cut down on expenses and establish a direct line of contact with the people.
