The Serie B game played on Saturday featured a rare sight of fair play that everyone should take example of in which Ascoli allowed Reggina to score a goal for free after a misunderstanding put Ascoli ahead 1-0
The whole incident started after Reggina defender Carlos Valdez got injured and tried to kick the ball of the so he can be seen to by the medical staff.
At this point the Ascoli players intercepted the ball going out of the field and converted it into a goal. Ascoli was up 1-0
The Reggina players protested the unfairness of the goal and even pushed the goal scorer. The Ascoli players put on a quick meeting amongst them selves and when play resumed non of the Ascoli players went to challenge the Reggina players.
Reggina converted the opportunity into a goal by Biagio Pagano and the game went level again with a 1-1 score.
Unfortunately for Ascoli they lost to Reggina 3-1 but the fair play example they showed was a show of brilliance which will match any spectacular goal scored.
