Red-painted attack on Russian Ambassador in Warsaw

According to the news of RIA Novosti, the Russian Ambassador was attacked in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.

Red paint was thrown at Ambassador Sergey Andreyev while he was trying to lay a wreath on the cemetery where Soviet soldiers lay during the ceremony held for the 9 May Victory Day.

Meanwhile, demonstrators surrounding the Ambassador with Ukrainian flags chanted slogans.

Ambassador Andreyev, who remained calm despite the attack, tried to lay a wreath on the grave under the police cordon, but left the place after the increasing protests.

Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zakharova, said that “the supporters of neo-Nazism once again showed their bloody faces by attacking the Russian ambassador in Warsaw.”

Zaharova also said that the attack “reflects the West’s move towards the reincarnation of fascism” and said, “But they cannot scare us.”
