Spanish giants Real Madrid target Seria A’s Fiorentina star Juan Manuel Vargas.

Last years transfer champions are on the attack again for the 2010 – 2011 season as Real bid for Fiorentina’s Peruvian star, Juan Manuel Vargas, for an estimated 25 milyon Euro.

The Spanish giants who targeted the 27-year-old last year have revamped there attempts to lure the winger to the Bernabeu as there attempts last summer and in Christmas for 15 million and 22 million Euro respectively, were turned away by the Italian side.

Real Madrid spent a staggering 250 million Euros during the summer 2009-2010 transfer period on stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema, Raul Albiol and Xabi Alonso to win the La Liga crown and Champions League but have failed to do so.

The Spaniards were knocked out of the champions League Knock Out Stage by French side Lyon and were recently beaten by Barcelona at the weekend which gave a major blow to their championship plans.

Real are also rumoured to have said that they are willing to increase the bid for Vargas which was written on Tuttosport, an Italian Sports Newspaper.

Fiorentina had transferred the Peruvian star from Catania for 12 million Euros in may 2008.
