Former France boss Raymond Domenech has stated that England have no quality and will be an easy Euro 2012 opener for Les Bleus.
The rivals have been drawn against each other in Group D along with Sweden and Ukraine, and will do battle in the first game of the pool on June 11.
The 60-year-old, who coached his nation between 2004 and 2010, has stated that Roy Hodgson’s men will not stand in France’s way and that Laurent Blanc’s team should be looking to get to the semi-finals at least.
“The first game against England should be easy as they have no quality,” Domenech is quoted as saying by France Football.
“Then we must not lose against Ukraine and we will progress past the first round.
“I put France among the favourites, I truly believe it.
“Eighteen matches unbeaten, beating England and Germany away from home, also beating Brazil, finishing first in our qualifying group; this makes you a favourite.
“They should get to the semi-finals, at least,” he predicted.
At Euro 2008, Domenech watched on as his side finished bottom of Group C, picking up only one point.
