Raul Meireles Fenerbahce transfer done deal ! Istanbul giants Fenerbahçe signs a transfer deal for Chelsea’s Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles to land the distinguished box to box midfielder from Premier League to Turkish Super League.
Istanbul / NationalTurk – Fenerbahce AŞ notified the Istanbul stock exchange today they have reached an agreement ‘on every matter’ with Raul Meireles, the former Porto, liverpool and Chelsea player and a member of Portuegese national team.

Christian Baroni, the ever-unpopular Selcuk Şahin and new signing Mehmet Topal all failed to fulfill expectations for a midfielder, who can play defence and offense on equal terms.

Raul Meireles is known for never having received a red card in his career, despite playing though in the midfield as a stopper and good marker.
Chelsea were not immediately available for comment about Fenerbahce’s declaration regarding Meireles signing, who moved to Chelsea from Liverpool for a reported £12m on transfer deadline day last year.
Fenerbahce were preparing an £8m bid on this years’ transfer deadline but letting the all-action Raul Meireles go would be risky strategy by Chelsea, who also let Michael Essien transfer to Real Madrid.
