Princess Charlène doesn’t want to go back to the palace
Actually, Princess Charlène should go home soon after her stay in the clinic. But now there are indications that the 44-year-old has no plans to move back in with her husband once she has recovered.
Last year Charlene of Monaco was stuck in South Africa for months due to health problems while her husband Prince Albert and their children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella were in Monaco. After her return in November 2021, the princess did not stay with her family for long, she went to a clinic due to her mental state.
Prince Albert told the newspaper “Monaco-Matin” in February: “Princess Charlene is doing much better and I hope that she will be back in the principality very soon.” But now the question is suddenly raised as to whether the 44-year-old would even like to play her role at court again.
“She wants to move to another place”
The French magazine “Voici” now claims that the princess wants to completely change her life. During her time in the clinic in Switzerland, she is said to have thought about what she wants – and that should not be the place at her husband’s side. “She understood that living in Monaco again would not do her any good,” a source told the magazine.
But what about their children? To what extent are they included in their mother’s plans? “She no longer wants Jacques and Gabriella to grow up in Monaco. She wants to move to another place with them and Albert should visit her,” the medium claims to have learned from an informant. The native South African doesn’t like that the twins are growing up under the pressure of their rank, she wants to change that.
The reports have not yet been officially confirmed. It would also be unclear whether this is just a wish to move or whether Charlene would like to withdraw completely from the royal family and from her royal duties.
