Amalia already hinted in a book about her last year that she intended to obtain the hunting license, at the insistence of her father, King Willem-Alexander. In the book, Amalia says that the deed is “not immediately intended to go hunting, but mainly to prepare for the future management of Kroondomein Het Loo in Apeldoorn”.
For years there has been discussion about the nature reserve near Apeldoorn. Part of the crown domain is closed for three months every year, presumably because of hunting by the king. The Party for the Animals previously asked questions about the intention of the Princess of Orange to go hunting.
