US President Barack Obama had an off day on the basketball court when he joined youngsters for a game – missing his first 14 shots.

The president took to the White House court as part of the Easter Egg Roll festivities, joining children and several Washington Wizards players.

He missed his first 14 shots before finally sinking his 15th – to loud applause.

His final tally was 2 baskets in 22 shots.

Mr Obama, 51, who is a regular player, eventually handed the ball to a young boy, who promptly made a lay-up.

“He couldn’t make one. I had to help him out,” said Kahron Campbell, 10.
